Deck Builders to Follow on Instagram

August 1, 2017

For anyone who is new to this blog, we are currently building a deck on our new home. It's the first big project we are tackling on our new fixer upper and since Ian is only able to work on the deck during weekends it's taking much longer than I had anticipated. However, there is a silver lining to the extended time frame and that is I have had a lot of time to work out the final decisions of the deck design.

As with most home projects I went to Pinterest trying to find ideas for deck design and kept coming up short. Finally it dawned on me that Cheadle Construction is connected with thousands of builders on Instagram and so I went to work looking for inspo. And fail me? Instagram did not, for I found countless builder accounts filled with amazing designs that left me drooling. I've narrowed it down to 5 accounts that are worth following.

@morrisdecks- These guys are based out of NJ and the quality of their craftsmanship shines through their instagram feed. I really like the lattice panels on this deck in particular.

@drdecks- Goodness they do amazing work. Dr Decks specialize in rail heat bending which adds a unique "twist" to the aesthetic of their deck builds.

@gosselinkfinecarpentry- Brad recently posted a cedar deck that I haven't stopped dreaming about. I am definitely using it as a model for part of our deck design.

@phidecks- The custom multi-level decks they showcase are CLASSY. Their insta is one incredible deck after another and I am excited to see more of their future projects.

@aidanconstruction - I am drawn to this privacy screen. They also did a redwood deck build that has left me inspired.

Ian and I are always looking for inspiration in all areas of construction and design. Please feel free to share some of your favorite instagram accounts or builder websites.
